I love playing with mediums. I went through a gouache phase and an Oil pastel phase. What medium I used was usually determined by what medium was on sale or what I could afford. RemembeR Scroll Left <

These two pieces were done thirteen years apart. Different but related, huh? All the women who have loved me, and all my male buddies, my daughter Spring, and my adopted kids will tell you they are like photographs of my mind. Hard to believe I have a peaceful Center! Well I do! Remember! Scroll Left

Mary Magdaline Was a Bodhisattva (acrylic on Masonite)>br> 3ft 9inch X 4ft 3 inch

These two paintings were done for a series called Coloring Book. One day I was sitting at my dining room table doodling on a napkin. I had done similiar doodles for years. Suddenly I wondered why I never did my doodles in scale. And the series developed from there and went in directions I never anticpated. For instance the Lady or Amazon or whatever you want to call her--my Magdeline--was originally a figure on a painting in a series called Bernard's erotica. I could never make that painting work to my satisfaction. But there was something about her I liked very much. One day I ran out of Masonite and was hot to work on the coloring book series. So I took out the Magdaline and painted the coloring book around her. Now I'm satisfied.

Golly Gee! I haven't shown my oil pastels to the public for twenty five years. Boy did I get a great deal on Guitar Oil Pastels....I bought about 100 boxes. Until this day I haven't seen any artist use oil pastels like I did here, I used them like painting with glazes. But that is only an illusion! I was thrilled by them because I am such an amplified personality, no one believes it, but these pieces show a quiet, stillness that is also an important part of my psyche. By the way I had to do paper pieces because I had a compound fracture in my arm which was in a cast. So this left handed artist had to do these with his right hand!

It's a long story...so I 'll just say that I in 1984 I tried to do ten Abstract Expressionistic paintngs in one week. They were awful. but each one had some far-out or lovely quality about it. So I kept them. In the mid nineties I worked each of them, and made them into real Wisser paintings. This is one of them. I called them Time Paintings. When did I do them? Which Wisser Made them. Was it the same Wisser. What level of meaning are we comeing from? RemembeR Scroll Left <
